Okay yes I admit it's a rather small update, but it took me longer than anticipated to get these stories up due to issues with software. Now that I'm up and running again I hope to pick up the pace on the updates. Meanwhile, enjoy the stories!

I just wanted to keep everyone informed about the archive updates. I ran into a slight snag, which has delayed me a bit. Microsoft Word stopped working on me while I was in the process of coding a story. I should now be able to resolve that slight issue as I just bought a copy of the new MS Word. I hope to have another update shortly, and would like to again thank you all for being so patient! It's much appreciated!

As I mentioned earlier I plan to make "mini" updates as I work through the coding process. Please keep in mind I'm working on coding the oldest stories to the newest so the ones in the next few updates will be from late 2008 until 2009, so you may (or may not have) already read some of these. I'm pleased to announce that a new archive update is under way! While I'm working on the update I wanted to make a few more general announcements so everyone has an idea of where things are and what all is happening.

First, due to the sheer amount of stories that need coded and added to the archive I have decided to make small update posts. What I mean by small update posts is about once every week or every couple of weeks I plan to post the stories coded during that week. The process will take some time, so I figure while I'm working on the coding part I might as well upload what's been completed thus far. I will make update announcements as stories are added for those interested in seeing what's new.

Second, while going through the authors pages to add and check the links I have discovered that several authors website links no longer work. If you are an author who gave me a site link before 2008 and your site has since closed or you have moved to a different journal platform (ie Dreamwidth, Greatest Journal etc) please contact me here or via e-mail with an updated website link if there is a new one available. Thank you.

As I work through adding new stories and authors to the archive I will try my best to keep the list informed so that everyone can keep up to date. If you should have any new stories you'd like added to the archive please feel free to post them here or contact me. If anyone needs to reach me for any reason please feel free to do so. You can contact me via this community, via my personal LJ or via the e-mail address listed on the profile page.

Hello everyone!

I must first apologize for being away from the archive and the community list for so long. I ended up getting way side-tracked by RL and just left things go a bit longer than ever intended. I want to thank all of you who are still here for being unbelievably patient with me.

*hugs all*

Now down to some updates and general announcements...

First off the archive is still very much up and running just lacking updates of any kind in some time. I plan to work on remedying that, but will need all of your patience while I do so. I have been away for some time. It has been over a year since I've tracked the new DV fic being released and must take time to track and create a list of all the fic out there I have yet to make note of.

While I work on making a major update for the archive I will have to make a few minor adjustments to the community. I've been away for about a year and a half. I do have several DV fics on my hard drive waiting to be uploaded and coded but other than that I will have to do a lot of backtracking. Since this will take some time I'd appreciate if everyone here could lend a helping hand if at all possible. The way you can help is by posting links or the actual files of your newest fic and some of your older fic if you have time. If not I completely understand and will be immensely happy with any little bit any of you can contribute in this department. :)

On that note... Please feel free to continue submitting your fic here to the community and I will archive it when I have time.

Community Layout

If you haven't been back in awhile and decided to drop on by again you may notice that the community layout is different. I went in search of some new layouts in hopes to re-vamp and re-start this community again. I am also in the midst of re-vamping the look of my website as well so this is simply a first stage in hopefully taking a major step forward.

I have added several new tags to the community as well as removed others. I felt that some of the tags were rhetorical and others weren't even necessary, so I went through and revamped them. All entries on the comm are now officially tagged for easier navigation.

Focusing on particular tags...

Archived - This tag was created to label fic that has already been housed at the Daniel/Vala Archive.

To be Archived - This tag was created for those who begin to submit their stories here. I believe that in creating this tag it will help to mark fic not yet archived, the fic that is waiting for me to catch up with the stories I missed and neglected to add to the site itself. Presently due to being so behind I wanted a place to keep the fic waiting to be archived until I'm officially caught up. My hope is that people will start to submit their works (old and new) to the community again so that there will still be fic housed here just not yet incorporated on the main site.

Author's tags

I have been considering creating authors tags to help with the process of getting re-attached to the lovely world of DV. At present there are approximately 10 authors who have so far placed their work on the comm since it's official open. I believe in creating authors tags those who hopefully begin to submit work here will have a place for their fic to be housed temporarily until I am able to code and update them.

Re-vamp of Site and communities (both Daniel/Vala and Daniel/Cameron Archives included here)

I wanted to make a general announcement that I am working on finding new software to re-vamp my website overall. I have looked into e-fiction and even the new Coffee Cup software for this purpose but haven't started to officially work on re-vamping everything. During this process the archives and website will remain up and active but you may find some oddities depending on what I'm working on at the time and where on the site I'm focusing. The website was created using an old version of Microsoft Word so it's in need of a new "face lift" so to speak. I just wanted to make everyone aware that this transition will be eventually occurring and please be patient while it's all underway.

Lastly, I will try to keep everyone better informed as I work through tracking the older stories, coding them and uploading them. Please keep in mind if you post a story here it will automatically be included in the Daniel/Vala Archive. If you, however, want to just share a DV story here and not have it archived you MUST include a note along the lines of "please don't archive" to let me know. Thank you!
